Vutukuri Ramayya Sreshti & Yarlagadda Ranganayakulu Naidu College, Chirala, was started as VRS College in 1951 with the munificence of Sri Vutukuri Ramayya Sreshti, to cater to the educational needs of backward and deprived rural sections of the then Guntur District of Madras State. VRS College has been rechristened as VRS & YRN College since 1962, after the donation of an eminent philanthropist Sri Yarlagadda Ranganayakulu Naidu through his charitable trust for the development of the College. 

The College is housed on a sprawling campus of 108 acres of land in picturesque surroundings and serene atmosphere on Chirala – Vadarevu Road—3 km from the shore of Bay of Bengal. 

VRS & YRN College runs various Educational institutions (collectively known as VRS & YRN Group of Educational Institutions) offering intermediate, degree courses (B.A, B.Sc., B. Com); Post-graduate courses (MCA, MBA, M.Sc, M.Com); Applied Science courses (Oils, Fats & Petrochemicals); Polytechnic Diploma Courses; Undergraduate Engineering courses (B.Tech), Post Graduate Engineering courses (M.Tech); and Distance Education. The group is embarking on providing certification courses, skill enhancement courses, vocational training courses and also corporate training.

Continuing in the footsteps of the Founders, VRS & YRS Group of Educational Institutions is making continuous efforts to improve the quality of education to keep in pace with the fast changing world and advances that are taking place.

VRS & YRN Group of Educational Institutions will be a Gurukula – a place dedicated to imparting education focused on all-round development of the individual, inculcating self-discipline and empowering the individual.
